Organic or not?

How healthy is it for you?

It can be, but only if it is organic.

No one wants to hear that it is full of hormones. These hormones can cause early puberty in females.

Main ingredient in milk is carbohydrates and it is lactose. So thinking drinking just a little being lactose intolerant will be ok, is false. I am lactose intolerant but love milk, so it hard for me to give it up.

If you drink it unpasteurized it can be harmful to your health. One of the main concerns is that it can contain E-coli bacteria.

Some interesting facts is cows can produce enough milk for 90 glasses a day!

Benefits of milks are Vitamin D, Protein and Calcium.

If you are going to drink milk consider organic, especially for young children. It does cost a lot more but well worth the benefits over regular milk. Organic milk can cost about $6 or more a gallon compared to $3 to $5 in our area. Organic milk comes from cows that are grass fed, no hormones or antibiotics.

Shelf life of milk that has been opened is 5 to 7 days for all types of milk. With un-fresh milk you can smell, bad texture or discoloring are all indications. The same goes for anything you make milk with. If it is good for 5 to 7 days so will the dish you prepared be. Organic milk lasts a lot longer than pasteurized milk. This is due to the way the preserve the product.

I am not discouraging drinking or buying regular non-organic milk. I personally prefer organic because of the added things in pasteurized milk.
